New Carroll County Resident Tommy Goodman spoke to a full house at CCDA annual meeting, July 14, 2008 at the Community House in Carrollton.

The Shops on Lexington Street in Carrollton include, The Carroll County Market, Miss Sippy's Coffee Shop, Farm Bureau Insurance and Merganza Gift Shop.

The CCDA Education Committee hosted a staff appreciation dinner for school staff and presented Hathorne Elementary teacher Lula Owens with Teacher of the Year Award. Chairman Chris Givens presented the awards.

The Merrill Museum houses a number of exhibits including the McCain Collection, memorabilia from the family of Senator John S. McCain.

Placed on the Register of Historic Places after it was discontinued as a school, the old Vaiden High School serves as the site for teh Vaiden Farmers Market during the summer. Soon this building will be ready for use as a community facility.
